Jay Chan, male, majored in Material Engineering and Industrial Design, is a national intermediate material engineer.In 2022, he co-founded Zence Object Technology and served as its Chief Technology Officer, becoming one of the core leadership members of the company. With over ten years of experience in sustainable product development, Jay Chan has accumulated profound industrial technology knowledge and a keen insight into the properties of new materials.
Jay Chan also serves as a permanent council member and vice president of the Shenzhen Industrial Design Association and a senior member of the Shenzhen Environmental Science Society. He is highly honored and has won more than ten design awards at home and abroad, including the iF Design Award in Germany, the GOOD DESIGN AWARD in Japan, and the Red Dot Design Award in Germany.
As the youngest co-founder and Chief Technology Offcer of Zence Object Technology, Jay Chan, together with the other three founders, has witnessed the glorious journey of the company - from successfully obtaining several million US$ in seed round financing from the Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund and Gobi Greater Bay Area in 2023 to reaching a strategic cooperation with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, which will bring in support of several million Hong Kong dollars. From project R&D to obtaining two rounds of strategic cooperation funds, Jay Chan has accumulated rich practical project experience and insights, and has gradually developed a profound understanding of the strategic layout and initiatives in the new materials industry.
In Zence Object Technology, Jay Chan leads the team to conduct in-depth research on cutting-edge technologies. He adheres to the concept of green and sustainable development to promote product planning, manufacturing, and performance optimization. He is good at accurately analyzing the characteristics of raw materials, integrating advanced technologies, and injecting new production models into project and product technology development. Jay Chan not only focuses on the high quality and performance of products but also attaches great importance to the environmental impact of the entire process from raw material acquisition to product production. He is committed to building a green supply chain and promoting the sustainable development of the industry. He led the R&D team to establish the first domestic bio-based material molding R&D center with Sumitomo Heavy Industries of Japan in 2024 and built an intelligent factory with an investment of tens of millions RMB, focusing on transforming agricultural waste into green materials. The estimated annual output value is expected to exceed 100 million yuan.
Jay Chan adheres to the belief of "innovative technology and sustainable development" and is committed to finding the balance between economic development and the ecological environment. The "replacing plastics with tea and bamboo" project developed by him and his R&D team has not only enhanced the synergy effect of the industrial chain but also helped enterprises in the industry break through market barriers, provided environmental protection products for various industries, and promoted the closed loop of green sustainable development. These innovative materials have been widely used in various fields such as daily packaging, consumer electronics, beauty, and household appliances, making outstanding contributions to the green sustainable development industry and opening up new opportunities for the sustainable manufacturing market.
